Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur (ÍR) is a prominent Icelandic multi-sport club based in the Breiðholt suburb of Reykjavík, founded on March 11, 1907. It is one of the most populous sports clubs in Reykjavík, with over 1,800 active members, including more than 1,300 individuals aged 16 and under. ÍR offers a wide range of sports, including football, handball, basketball, athletics, tenpin bowling, skiing, karate, taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, and dance. The club has achieved significant success, particularly in men's basketball, where it has won 15 Icelandic championships, and in women's basketball, with 11 national championships.
