Miðflokkurinn (The Centre Party) is a right-wing populist, Eurosceptic, and national-conservative political party in Iceland, established in September 2017. [2, 3, 6] It was founded by former Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson after a split from the Progressive Party. [3, 4] The party emphasizes national sovereignty, economic liberalism, and positions itself against the political establishment, with strong support in rural areas.
