Norðurland vestra, also known as Northwest Iceland, is one of the eight traditional regions of Iceland, located in the northern part of the island. It is primarily recognized for statistical purposes and as a grouping of municipalities, rather than an incorporated polity. The largest town in the region is Sauðárkrókur, and notable attractions include the basalt rock Hvítserkur and the largest seal colony in Iceland.
