Katar, also known as Qatar, is a Middle Eastern country that has diplomatic relations with Iceland. The President of Iceland has received credentials from Qatar's ambassador on multiple occasions, indicating formal diplomatic ties. While not a direct neighbor, Qatar is recognized in Icelandic media as a sovereign state and a location where Icelandic citizens or interests might be present, such as the recent news of a Danish tennis player being stuck in its capital, Doha.
