Formúlu 1, also known as Formula 1 (F1), is the highest class of international auto racing for open-wheel, single-seater cars, governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). While there's no direct Icelandic F1 team or race, the sport is followed in Iceland, with some venues in Reykjavík showing races. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has led to the cancellation of some F1 races in that region, impacting the global F1 calendar. Separately, "Formula Off Road" is a distinct motorsport that originated in Iceland in 1965 and involves 4WD vehicles navigating extreme terrain.
