Austfirðir, also known as the Eastfjords, is a region in eastern Iceland characterized by its rugged coastline, deep inlets, and steep mountains. It is one of Iceland's eight regions and is part of Austurland (East Iceland). The area is known for its serene atmosphere, charming fishing villages, and diverse landscapes, including black-sand beaches, woodlands, and high plateaus. It is also the only place in Iceland where wild reindeer roam.
