Faxaflói is a large bay located in southwest Iceland, situated between the Reykjanes and Snæfellsnes peninsulas. It is the largest bay in Iceland, covering an area of approximately 4500–5000 km². The capital city of Reykjavík is located on its southern shore, and the bay is a significant area for marine life, including whales and puffins, making it a popular spot for whale watching and other marine tourism.
