Aldrei fór ég suður, also known as the "Never Went South" music festival, is a free annual rock festival held in Ísafjörður, Iceland, during Easter weekend. Founded in 2004 by musician Mugison and his father, the festival is significant for its role in bringing diverse musical acts, including both established and emerging artists, to the remote Westfjords region. It is entirely volunteer-run and funded by grants, emphasizing community involvement and offering a unique, non-commercial experience. The festival's name, which translates to "I never went south," is a playful nod to Ísafjörður's distance from the capital, Reykjavík.
