Úkraínumenn, or Ukrainians, are a significant group in Iceland, particularly since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Over 2,700 Ukrainian citizens have sought temporary asylum in Iceland, with the population of Ukrainians in the country rising from around 470 to over 4,200 in the past four years. The Icelandic government has provided immediate residency and support, including a dedicated website and assistance with employment, primarily in tourism and food production. The Association of Ukrainians in Iceland, established in 2012, actively promotes Ukrainian traditions and culture within the Icelandic community.
