Staður

The European Economic Area (EEA), known in Icelandic as "Evrópska efnahagssvæðið," is a common market area comprising the 27 European Union member states and three European Free Trade Association (EFTA) states: Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Established in 1994, the EEA grants Iceland access to the EU's internal market, based on the four freedoms: free movement of goods, services, capital, and persons. The Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA) regulations apply to the EEA, and their implementation is currently under review in Iceland, as well as in Norway and Liechtenstein.
