Jafnaðarmenn, officially known as Javnaðarflokkurin (the Social Democratic Party), is a center-left social-democratic political party in the Faroe Islands. Founded in 1925, it is one of the older parties in the islands and is generally supportive of a strong welfare state and workers' rights. The party is currently a part of the Faroese government, having formed a coalition with Tjóðveldi (the Republican Party) and Framsókn (the Progressive Party) after the December 2022 elections. Its leader, Aksel V. Johannesen, serves as the Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands.
