Dynjandisheiði

Staður

Dynjandisheiði is a mountain pass in the Westfjords region of Iceland, situated between Arnarfjörður and Barðaströnd. It is a significant route, as the road built over the pass in 1959 was the first car-accessible connection to Ísafjörður and between Ísafjörður and Barðaströnd. The pass, which reaches a maximum elevation of 500 meters (1,600 feet), is known for being flat and snowy compared to the surrounding region and is often subject to closures due to weather conditions like snow and avalanches. It is also located above the Dynjandi waterfall, a major natural attraction in the Westfjords.
