Heimir Hallgrímsson is an Icelandic professional football manager and former player, currently serving as the head coach of the Republic of Ireland men's national team. He is widely recognized for co-managing the Icelandic national team to the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2016 and their first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance in 2018. Hallgrímsson is also a qualified dentist, a profession he maintained part-time alongside his coaching career for many years.
