Besta deild karla, also known as the Men's Best Division, is the highest professional football league in Iceland. Established in 1912 as the Icelandic Championship, it operates under the governance of the Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ) and currently features 12 teams. The league plays its season from April to September due to Iceland's harsh winters, and the champion qualifies for the UEFA Champions League.
